Denmark Consumer Confidence June 2022

Denmark: Consumer sentiment deteriorates to fresh record low in June

June 22, 2022

Consumer sentiment fell further in June, dropping to a fresh record low of minus 24.8, down from May’s minus 22.4. As a result, the index moved further below the 0-point threshold, indicating starker pessimism among Danish consumers.

The downturn was broad-based. Consumers’ views regarding their financial situation at present compared to a year ago and in the year ahead, as well as their views with regard to the country’s general economic situation both at present and for the coming 12-month period deteriorated.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption expanding 2.2% in 2022, which is down 0.7 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and 2.1% in 2023.
