Ukraine: Industrial output plunges in June

July 19, 2019

Industrial production contracted 2.3% over the same month last year in June, which contrasted May’s 1.6% expansion and marked a four-month low. A sharp drop in mining output largely drove the fall.

Meanwhile, on a seasonally-adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial output contracted 4.6% in June, a larger drop than May’s 0.9% contraction. Annual average growth in industrial production fell to 0.3% in June from 0.8%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial output will grow 2.2% in 2019, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel expects industrial production to rise 2.9%.
