Switzerland Economic Sentiment November 2021

Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer records worst reading since February in November

November 30, 2021

The KOF Economic Barometer came in at 108.5 in November, down from October's 110.2. November's result marked the weakest reading since February. However, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the Swiss economy.

November’s weaker reading was driven by softer signs from the accommodation and food service industry. However, indicators for private consumption and manufacturing were more positive.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect the economy to expand 3.0% in 2022, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2023, the panel expects GDP to expand 1.8%.
