Sweden: Industrial production growth rises in January

Total industrial production excluding energy rose a seasonally-adjusted 2.1% in January over the previous month according to Statistics Sweden (SCB), down from December’s revised 1.2% increase (previously reported: +0.8% month-on-month). The increase was underpinned by greater output in the manufacturing and mines and quarries sub-sectors.
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production grew 9.2% in January, up from December’s revised 8.2% increase (previously reported: +8.1% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production increased from 4.6% in December to 5.1% in January.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will increase 3.9% in 2018 and 2.6% in 2019.
