Spain: Retail sales gather pace in November
Retail sales grew 3.0% year-on-year in November, accelerating from the 2.6% rise logged in October. November’s pick-up largely reflected faster growth in food sales and a rebound in sales of personal equipment goods.
On a distribution-based system, purchases at large chain stores quickened compared to October while those at department stores rebounded strongly. Meanwhile, sales at single retail and small chain stores slowed in November.
Annual average retail sales growth ticked to 2.2% in November from 2.1% in the previous month.
