Slovenia: Inflation falls again in October

October 30, 2019

Consumer prices rose 0.1% over the previous month in October, contrasting a 0.2% month-on-month drop in September. A surge in prices for clothing and footwear led the upturn, while prices for recreation and culture fell the most.

Inflation slid to 1.4% in October from 1.7% in September. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation edged down to 1.5% in October from 1.7% in September. Lastly, annual average harmonized inflation inched down to 1.7% from 1.8% in September.

The Central Bank expects harmonized inflation to average 2.0% in both 2020 and 2021. FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants project it averaging 1.8% in 2020, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate, and 1.9% in 2021.
