Slovenia: Industrial output falls in May
Industrial production slid 16.9% year-on-year in May (April: -22.8% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production contracted at a softer pace in May, while the drop in mining and quarrying output worsened. Meanwhile, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output also shrunk at a quicker pace.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, factory output rebounded 9.0% in May (April: -14.7% mom s.a.). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 2.5%, down from April’s minus 0.8% reading.
