Slovakia: Inflation falls to lowest level in over three years in August

September 14, 2020

Consumer prices slid 0.10% over the last month in August, contrasting July’s 0.10% increase. August’s drop largely reflected falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, transport prices rose at a more moderate pace than in July while prices for healthcare rebounded.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to average 2.0% in 2020, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s estimate, and 1.7% in 2021.
