Saudi Arabia: Inflation stabilizes in December

In December, consumer prices rose 0.07% over the previous month, which matched the result tallied in the previous month. The increase mainly reflected an increase in prices for communications, clothing and health.

Inflation came in at 2.3% in December for the second consecutive month. Annual average inflation in December was stable at the previous month’s 2.2%, thereby remaining at the lowest rate since November 2006.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast expect inflation to average 2.7% in 2016, which is down 0.1 percentage points over last month’s projection. For 2017, the panel sees inflation averaging 2.8%.
