Romania: Economic growth picks up in Q3

In the third quarter, the economy expanded 3.6% over the same period of the previous year, according to preliminary data released on 13 November. The figure marked a slight acceleration compared to the 3.4% expansion observed in the second quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP rose 1.4% in seasonally-adjusted terms in Q3, which was up from the flat reading tallied in Q2 and marked the largest gain in three quarters.FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect the economy to grow 3.5% in 2015, which is unchanged over the previous month’s projection. For 2016, the panel expects the economy to expand 3.6%, which is also unchanged from last month’s Consensus.
