Poland Business Confidence March 2021

Poland: Business confidence rises to six-month high but remains in negative territory in March

March 23, 2021

Manufacturing-sector business confidence came in at minus 6.6 in March, up from February's minus 8.3, marking the best result since September 2020. As such, the index moved closer to the 0-threshold, but still indicated pessimism among businesses.

March’s improvement largely came on the back of firms’ positive expectations of future production levels and employment. Moreover, their expectations of the future general economic conditions, order books, as well as their personal financial situation turned less pessimistic. In addition, firms’ current views of production, order books and their personal financial situation also improved.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 3.2% in 2021, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. For 2022, the panel sees fixed investment growth at 6.3%.
