Peru: Inflation picks up in November

Inflation came in at 8.4% in November, up from October’s 8.3%. The most pronounced increases were recorded for prices of housing and utilities, associated to new tariffs for residential electricity and natural gas. Annual average inflation rose to 7.7% in November (October: 7.5%).

Consumer prices increased 0.52% over the previous month in November, accelerating from the 0.35% increase seen in the month prior.

FocusEconomics panelists see inflation ending 2023 at 2.6%, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate, and 2024 at 2.2%.
