Netherlands: Business confidence rises in February

February 27, 2020

Business confidence among Dutch manufacturers rose from 2.5 in January to 3.7 in February, marking a six-month high. Moreover, the index remained above the long-term average of 1.0 and the neutral zero-threshold that separates business optimism from pessimism. The rise in optimism came on the back of more upbeat views on order books, production expectations and stocks of finished goods.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see fixed investment growing 1.0% in 2020, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2021, the panel expects fixed investment to expand 1.4%.
