Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation eases to an over-a-year-low in June

July 3, 2019

Consumer prices fell 0.1% month-on-month in June, contrasting May’s 0.3% upturn and largely reflecting lower oil prices.

Inflation came in at 1.8% in June, a five-month low (May: 2.1%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation eased to 1.5% from 2.2% a month prior, its lowest point since May 2018, while annual average inflation inched down to 1.8% (May: 1.9%).

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect harmonized inflation to average 1.9% in 2019, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate, and 1.8% in 2020.
