Lithuania Inflation November 2018

Lithuania: Inflation falls in November

December 11, 2018

Consumer prices fell 0.1% from the previous month in November, compared to a 0.6% month-on-month increase in October. According to the Statistical Institute, the reading largely reflected lower prices for transport and food more than offsetting higher prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.

Inflation moderated from a five-month high of 2.9% in October to 2.5% in November. Annual average inflation edged down to 2.9% in November from 3.0% in the previous month. In a similar fashion, harmonized inflation fell to 2.4% in November from 2.8% in October.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect harmonized inflation to reach 2.6% in 2019, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2020, the panel sees inflation slowing to 2.5%.
