Lithuania: Inflation decelerates in October

In October, consumer prices fell 0.2% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.7% rise recorded in September. According to the statistical institute, the result mainly reflected lower prices for housing. As a result of the monthly price decrease, annual headline inflation fell from 3.4% in September to 3.1% in October. On the other hand, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) remained unchanged at 3.4% in September, the latest month for which data are available.
