Latvia: Harmonized inflation moderates in October

Harmonized inflation came in at 21.7% in October, down from September’s 22.0%. The result was driven by moderating price pressures for transportation and housing and utilities.

Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 15.0% in October (September: 13.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 21.7% in October, from September’s 22.1%.

Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.84% from the previous month in October, below September's 1.50% increase.

Our panelists see harmonized inflation averaging 8.7% in 2023, which is up 0.5 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and 2.4% in 2024.
