Kazakhstan: Industrial sector grows at the swiftest pace in five months in March
Industrial production grew 4.2% year-on-year in March, up from February’s 3.5% expansion. The latest reading marked the fastest pace of expansion in the industrial sector in five months.
Looking at a breakdown of the sub-sectors, March’s print reflected a sharp acceleration in the manufacturing sector and a modest upturn in the growth of the water supply, sewerage system and waste management sector. On the downside, mining output decelerated, while electricity, gas and steam supply contracted following a flat reading in February.
Annual average growth in industrial production remained at 3.6% in March, matching the previous month’s print.
