Japan: Industrial output rises at faster rate in April
Industrial output rose 0.7% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in April (March: +0.3% mom). Manufacturing output grew at a faster pace, while mining output fell at a weaker pace ,supporting the reading.
On an annual basis, factory output fell 0.7% in April, easing from March’s 0.8% fall. Moreover, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at 0.2% in April, contrasting March’s minus 0.2% reading.
