Italy: Industrial production rebounds in September
November 10, 2015
In September, industrial output rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.2% over the previous month, contrasting the 0.5% decrease tallied in August. September’s reading undershot market expectations of a 0.5% increase. The result was mainly driven by a rebound in manufacturing, which more than offset a deterioration in mining and quarrying.
On an annual basis, industrial production expanded a working-day adjusted 1.7% in September, which was above the 1.0% increase tallied in August. Annual average growth in industrial output inched up from August’s zero growth to a 0.3% rise in September.
