Italy: Industrial production rebounds in March

May 11, 2018

Industrial output expanded 1.2% in March on a month-on-month, seasonally-adjusted basis, strongly contrasting February’s 0.5% contraction. Within the manufacturing sector, the textile, clothing, leather and accessory industries posted the strongest performance.

On an annual basis, industrial production expanded 3.6% in March, accelerating notably from February’s 2.5% rise. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output remained unchanged at 4.1% for the third consecutive month.
