Italy Consumer Confidence September 2020

Italy: Consumer confidence strengthens in September

September 25, 2020

The consumer confidence index rose to 103.4 in September from 101.0 in August.

September’s improvement was broad based. Consumers had more upbeat views on the economy in the past year and the year ahead; moreover, the uptick in the headline figure benefited from a rosier assessment of the personal component.

Panelists project private consumption to fall 10.3% in 2020, which is up 1.0 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2021, panelists see private consumption growing 6.2%.
