Guatemala: Inflation comes in at highest level since December 2008 in July
Consumer prices increased 1.08% in July over the previous month, coming in below the 1.83% rise logged in June. July’s result marked the weakest reading since April. The reading was primarily due to a slower rise in prices for food and alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 8.4% in July, which was up from June’s 7.6%. July’s reading was the highest inflation rate since December 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 4.4% in July (June: 4.0%).
