Guatemala: Inflation comes in at highest level since December 2008 in August
Inflation rose from 8.9% in August to 9.0% in September, marking the highest print in nearly 14 years. The print was likely driven by continued energy and food price pressures.
Meanwhile, the trend deteriorated as annual average inflation rose to 5.3% in September from 4.8% in August.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.36% month on month in September, moderating from August’s 0.68% increase and marking the softest monthly increase since January.
