Guatemala: Economic activity moderates slightly in July

Economic activity slowed to 3.2% over the same month a year prior in July, down from the revised 3.3% grow logged in June (previously reported: +3.1% year-on-year). Growth in July was supported by sustained economic activity in manufacturing; wholesale and retail trade; and private services sectors. Annual average growth in economic activity ticked down to 3.3% in August from 3.4% in July.Banguat expects growth of between 3.0%–3.8% in 2019. FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see growth of 3.0% in 2019, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2020, our panelists predict growth to accelerate to 3.1%.
