Greece: Unemployment rate ticks down while labor force participation increases in May
May’s data pointed to a marginally improving labor market. The number of employed people increased by 53,362 compared with April 2022, and the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate inched down from April’s 12.6% to 12.5% in May. That said, the number of unemployed increased by 4,495 from April to May amid a labor force participation increase; the number of people outside the labor force decreased by 60,520 people compared with April 2022, representing a 1.9% decline.
