Greece: Industrial production picks up in April

Industrial production expanded a working-day-adjusted 1.9% annually in April, accelerating from March’s revised 1.2% expansion (previously reported: +1.1% year-on-year). The increase was chiefly driven by a rebound in manufacturing output.
On a month-on-month basis, however, industrial output contracted 5.3% in working-day adjusted terms in April, following a revised 6.1% expansion (previously reported: +6.0% month-on-month) in March. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production ticked up to 2.2% in April from 2.1% in March.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 2.2% in 2018, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2019, the panel sees industrial production growing 2.5%.
