Ghana: Inflation falls in October

In October, consumer prices increased 1.39% from the previous month, which was a higher increase compared to September’s timid 0.17%. October’s print was a six-month high and mainly reflected higher prices for transport and education.

Inflation dropped from September’s 17.2% to 15.8% in October, the lowest value in over two years. Annual average inflation edged down slightly to 17.9% in October from 18.0% in September.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to average 17.2% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. The panel sees inflation at 12.3% in 2017, which is also unchanged from last month’s forecast.
