France: Consumer sentiment continues to increase in September
Consumer sentiment in France ticked up to 104 in September from 103 in August, according to the French Statistical Institute (INSEE). As such, the index improved for a seventh consecutive month and reached its highest level in almost two years, moving further above the 100-threshold—its long-term average.
September’s result reflected consumers’ decreasing concerns over unemployment and improved expected saving capacity, which more than offset increasing concerns over consumer prices in the next 12 months.
