Ecuador Inflation June 2019

Ecuador: Inflation rises in June

July 4, 2019

Consumer prices decreased 0.04% in June, slightly down from May’s flat result, as lower food prices were only partly offset by higher costs for transport and healthcare.

Meanwhile, inflation climbed to 0.6% in June from 0.4% in May. Lastly, the annual average variation in consumer prices rose to 0.2% in June from 0.1% in May.

Panelists participating in the LatinFocus Consensus Forecast expect inflation of 0.7% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. The panel projects inflation inching up to 1.1% at the end of 2020.
