Denmark: Consumer sentiment nosedives to over 13-year low in March
Consumer sentiment plunged in March, falling to minus 14.4—the lowest reading since October 2008—markedly down from minus 3.2 in February. Consequently, the index moved further below the neutral 0-point threshold, indicating more pessimism among Danish consumers—partly reflecting the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on 24 February.
The downturn came on the back of a broad base deterioration in sentiment, with consumers’ views regarding their financial situation and the country’s general economic situation both at present and in the coming 12-month period deteriorating.
