Denmark Business Confidence June 2018

Denmark: Business sentiment declines in June

June 27, 2018

According to a survey conducted by Statistics Denmark, business confidence among firms in the industrial sector deteriorated in June. The confidence indicator dropped to 2.0 points in June from May’s 10-month high of 4.0, but still remains above the zero-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism in the sector.

The deterioration in business sentiment largely reflected a steep decline in production expectations. Views on order books were unchanged, while firms’ outlook regarding stocks of finished goods worsened marginally in the surveyed month.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment to increase 4.4% in 2018, which is up 0.5 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2019, panelists forecast an expansion of 3.6%.
