Czech Republic: Inflation increases in April

Consumer prices rose 1.79% from the previous month in April, accelerating from March's 1.66% increase. The was largely due to rising prices for housing and utilities.

Inflation rose to 14.2% in April, above March’s 12.7%. April's result was the highest inflation rate since our current records began. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 7.0% in April (March: 6.1%).

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists forecast that inflation will average 7.7% in 2022, which is up 1.6 percentage points from last month’s Consensus, and 2.6% in 2023.
