Czech Republic: Industrial production picks up in October

Industrial production in October increased 3.8% year-on-year, which represented an acceleration compared to the 1.0% expansion registered in September. October’s result mainly reflects a healthy expansion in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.

A month-on-month comparison showed that industrial output in October grew 1.5% in seasonally-adjusted terms, which came in below September’s 2.5% increase. The trend improved slightly as annual average growth in industrial production inched up from September’s 4.4% to 4.5% in October.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 5.2% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists expect industrial output to expand 4.6%, which is also unchanged from last month’s projection.
