Croatia: Industrial production rises solidly again in April
May 31, 2019
In April, industrial production rose a solid 3.0% in working-day adjusted terms over the same month last year, matching March’s expansion. As a result, the annual average variation in industrial output improved to minus 0.1% in April from minus 0.5% a month earlier.
April’s upturn was largely driven by a surge in output in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector. Meanwhile, the manufacturing industry grew at a modest pace and the mining and quarrying sector contracted for the second consecutive month in April.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production dipped 0.2% in seasonally- and working-day adjusted terms in April, following March’s flat reading.
