Chile: Consumer confidence moderates in October

Consumer confidence came in at 84.6 in October, down from September's 92.3, amid rising price pressures and political uncertainty. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 100-point threshold, signaling that consumers were pessimistic.

Consumers grew more downbeat about the current economic situation and their future income, but grew more upbeat on the future economic situation.

FocusEconomics panelists see private consumption growing 2.7% in 2022, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2023, they see private consumption expanding 2.0%.
