Chile Business Confidence March 2021

Chile: Business confidence rises further in March

April 2, 2021

Business confidence rose to 55.9 in March from February's 55.7, marking the strongest sentiment since June 2018. Consequently, the index moved further above the 50-point threshold, which separates optimism from pessimism among businesses.

March's increase was driven by an almost broad-based improvement, with sentiment in the commerce, construction and industrial sectors recording increases. On the other hand, sentiment in the mining sector declined.

Panelists surveyed for this month’s LatinFocus report project fixed investment to expand 6.1% in 2021, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2022, they project it to grow 4.4%.
