Chile: Business confidence down in December
Business confidence fell to 48.0 in December from November’s 54.2, which had marked the strongest sentiment since February 2019. Consequently, the index moved below the 50-point threshold, which separates optimism from pessimism among businesses.
December’s drop was driven by a broad-based deterioration, with sentiment in the construction, mining and industrial sectors recording declines. On the other hand, sentiment in commerce sector improved.
