Bulgaria: Inflation climbs to five-month high in March

Consumer prices rose 0.1% from the previous month in March, following February’s 0.5% increase. According to the Statistical Institute, March’s climb largely reflected higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation edged up from 3.2% in February to a five-month high of 3.6% in March. As a result, annual average inflation ticked up to 3.1% from 3.0% a month earlier.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to end 2019 at 2.8%, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. For 2020, panelists see inflation ending the year at 2.6%.
