Belgium: Industrial production ticks up in November

Industrial production in Belgium in November increased a seasonally adjusted 1.0% from the previous month, up from the 0.4% increase recorded in October (previously reported: +1.4%). The rise was mainly driven by an expansion in the mining and quarrying, manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sub-sectors.

In annual terms, industrial production rose 1.4% in November, contrasting October’s 2.0% fall. Meanwhile, annual average growth dipped from 4.0% in October to 3.7% in November.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 2.2% in 2017, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2018, the panel sees industrial production growth slowing to 1.4%.
