Belgium: Consumer confidence increases in August
Consumer confidence rose to minus 11.0 in August from July’s minus 13.0. The rise came on the back of an improvement in consumers’ views of the general economic situation in the next 12 months, as well as their saving intentions. On the other hand, consumers’ sentiment regarding their financial situations deteriorated marginally, while their sentiment regarding the labor market worsened. Overall, the confidence indicator remains below its thirty-year average.
