Belarus: Inflation eases in June from May
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 4.3% in annual terms in June, following a 4.8% increase in the previous month. June’s reading was the weakest since October 2023.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+2.7% in annual terms vs +4.5% in May) and clothing (+1.8% vs +2.0% in May). In contrast, there were higher price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+10.3% vs +10.1% in May) and transportation (+4.7% vs +4.2% in May).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.30% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.10% increase in the prior month.
