Austria: Industrial output expands at quickest pace since July 2020 in February
Industrial production rose 3.7% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in February (January: +2.6% mom). The result marked the strongest increase since July 2020. Looking at the details of the release, durable consumer goods output shrank in February, while capital goods output accelerated.
On an annual basis, industrial production fell in February, a smaller drop than January’s 3.6% fall. Accordingly, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.8%, up from January’s minus 5.9%.
