Angola: Inflation falls to 28-month low in August
Inflation came in at 19.8% in August, which was down from July’s 21.4%. August’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since March 2020. Elevated oil prices in recent months have strengthened the kwanza, which kept imported inflation at bay. Additionally, fuel and food subsidies helped ease domestic prices pressures.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.76% in August over the previous month, slowing down from the 0.81% increase logged in July. August’s result marked the weakest reading since April 2015.
