Exports in Mozambique

Mozambique - Exports
Economic growth likely eased in Q1 as operating conditions in the private sector deteriorated compared to the prior quarter. In March, the PMI highlighted cooling demand growth. Moreover, greater commodity prices brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine drove up price pressures, while increased job creation pushed up wage costs. Furthermore, concerns surrounding the war in Ukraine and rising inflation led to a notable moderation in business confidence. Meanwhile, in response to these dynamics, a fuel price increase became effective on 17 March, which will likely temper household spending and could risk social unrest. In other news, the government and IMF reached a staff-level agreement in late March for a three-year extended credit facility of around USD 470 million. The loan should aims to support fiscal sustainability and reduce financing vulnerabilities.Mozambique - Exports Data
