Turkey: Industrial output accelerates in April

Industrial output rose 10.8% year on year in April (March: +9.8% yoy). The print was driven by stronger output growth in the mining and quarrying and manufacturing sectors. On the other hand, energy output dropped.

Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth eased to 14.4% in April (March: +16.8%), signaling a deteriorating trend in the industrial sector.

On a seasonally-adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial output growth flatlined in April after contracting 1.7% in March.

FocusEconomics panelists see industrial production increasing 4.4% in 2022, which is unchanged from the previous month’s forecast. For 2023, our panelists expect industrial production to increase 2.8%.
