Ecuador: Economic activity accelerates in June
Economic activity rose 2.2% over the same month of the previous year in June, according to the monthly economic activity indicator (IDEAC, Indice de Actividad Económica Coyuntural) released by the Central Bank of Ecuador. This marked an acceleration from the 1.7% year-on-year expansion in May.
In month-on-month, seasonally-adjusted terms, economic activity was up 0.7% in June, marking a faster pace of expansion than the 0.5% upturn in May. Lastly, annual average growth in economic activity inched down to 2.7% in June from 2.8% in May.
