Italy: Consumer confidence rises in June
June 27, 2017
The National Institute of Statistics’ (Istat) consumer confidence index rose to 106.4 points in June from May’s 105.4 points, which marked the worst result since January 2015.
June’s reading reflected a broad-based improvement in household sentiment. Households’ assessment of the future general economic situation improved significantly, although unemployment expectations worsened for the third consecutive month. Consumers grew slightly more optimistic regarding their current and future personal economic situations and were more willing to purchase durable goods.
