Hungary: Industrial output expands at a solid rate in February

According to preliminary data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) on 6 April, industrial output rose a working-day adjusted 4.1% year-on-year in February, coming in below the 6.7% increase observed in January. A breakdown by components will be released on 12 April.

In month-on-month seasonally- and working-day adjusted terms, industrial production softened from a 1.5% increase in January to 0.5% growth in February.

Lastly, annual average growth in industrial production moderated from January’s almost two-year high of 6.0% to 5.7% in February.

Hungary Industrial Production Forecast

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to grow 5.5% in 2018, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2019, the panel expects industrial output to expand 4.5%.
