Dominican Republic: Economic activity growth speeds up in March

Economic activity increased 6.4% in year-on-year terms in March, which was above February's 5.8% increase. Conversely, on a month-on-month and seasonally-adjusted basis, economic activity slowed to 0.2% in March (February: +2.0% mom).

That said, annual average economic activity growth slowed to 13.0% in March (February: 13.4%), pointing to a worsening trend.

FocusEconomics panelists see the economy growing 5.1% in 2022, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and expanding 4.6% in 2023.
